Training

At TESEIN we believe that knowledge of the behavior of fire and the various forms of its extinction, automatic and manual, is vital to avoid or mitigate the consequences of a fire, both personal, material, and environmental.

In this sense, we provide training through the Fundación Tripartita, now Fundae, organizing and managing the bonus for the courses. The development of the courses is based on:

Theoretical training: generalities about fire, different types of fire detection and extinction and its operation.

Practical training: manual fire extinction, handling of portable fire extinguishers and fire hydrants equipped by each participant, three heights of real controlled fire of different nature for the intervention with the different extinguishing agents (water, foam, gases, chemical powder…)

We also provide support to the occupational health and safety departments of client companies, instructing them in the knowledge and use of the equipment and extinguishing systems of their facilities, both automatic and manual, at the end of their start-up, increasing thus its effectiveness.

In addition to the protection equipment available to carry out the practical training, for greater safety, TESEIN has taken out civil liability insurance for this purpose.

At the end of the training, a certificate of participation is delivered.

Detailed engineering, design and development

A highly qualified staff of engineers work in our design and development department to reach firefighting protection solutions, with a global focus, being able to conciliate regulatory and technical requirements with economic conditions in accordance with insurance companies.

Fire extinction

  1. Fire extinction by means of WATER
    1. Automatic sprinkler systems: they are detection systems that warn, control and extinguish certain kinds of fire before they spread. Automatic sprinklers protect practically the whole of the buildings, except for a very few exceptions where water is inadvisable as an extinguishing agent and more adequate systems have to be used. It is a totally independent and automatic fire protection system, therefore, it doesn’t need any other system to activate them.
    2. Water spray systems: Open nozzle system where a large quantity of water is released (the whole system) and the cooling of this risk is started to avoid fire spread, although in some cases the fire can be totally extinguished. In addition to the use of open nozzles where the discharge system is a deluge discharge system, closed nozzles can be used, provided the discharge velocity is fast or also water spray monitors can be used.
    3. Water mist systems: The maximum cooling capacity for a certain amount of water is obtained by the division of the water volume into very small drops, decreasing the volumes used and therefore, decreasing the damage caused by conventional systems that use water as an extinguishin agent (Automatic sprinklers, deluge systems, hoses, etc.). ADVANTAGES
      • Economy, minimum cost of the extinguishing agent.
      • Ecological extinguishing agent, it doesn’t damage environment.
      • Non electrically conductive
      • Eficient for flammable liquid fires.
      • Safe for the protected equipments and for the people.
      • Very reduced damages caused by water.
      • Drastic reduction of the area temperature.
      • Oxygen level maintenance.
      • Smoke and toxic gases washing.
      • It prevents reignition.
      • Multiple download systems.
    4. Manual extinguishing firefighting systems: hose reel cabinets, hydrants, dry column and manual extinguishers. This kind of systems are used for small fires that are supposed to be controlled by these means of manual extinguishing systems. In case these manual extinguishing systems are not enough to control or extinguish the fire, it is recommended, for safety reasons, to let the automatic extinguishing systems work, firemen and professionals trained for these kind of risks.
  2. Fire extinction by means of FOAM Extinguishing principle is based on the mixing of the three foam generators elements: water + foam + air. To generate foam, water flows through specific equipments where it mixes with foam and this substance afterwards mixes with the air.
    • LOW EXPANSION systems
    • MEDIUM EXPANSION systems
    • HIGH EXPANSION systems
  3. Fire extinction by means of GAS They are clean systems that don’t generate waste when extinguishing, they don’t either damage materials, instruments, nor electronical and electric equipments. Fire extinguishing systems by means of gas have developed during the last few years, rejecting halon use as an extinguishing agent and replacing it for clean gas agents which complies with Kioto protocol being harmless to ozone layer. There are different kinds of fire extinguishing gas agents, which will be chosen according to the fire nature, the risk to be protected or the possibility of existence of personnel in the risk to be protected. The reduction in the initial oxygen concentration is a very important factor to be taken into account in areas where there are people movement or are usually occupied. This is why unnecessary presence of people should be avoided. This is possible, generally, having acoustic alarms (sirens, warnings, etc.) and optical alarms (illuminated signs, flashes, etc.), as well as a discharge delay time (normally between 10 and 60 seconds), after the system automatic operation.
    • CO2
    • Inert gases (argon and nitrogen mixtures)
    • Clean gases (HFC´S as trade marks F13, FE 25 and FM 200
  4. Fire extinction by means of POWDER Chemical powder is an extinguishing agent which consists of tiny particles of different products (salt, phosphate, sulphate). In order to keep the good condition of the powder, additives are usually added to avoid lumps and its compacting. There are three kinds of chemical powder according to the fire class for which they are suitable:
    • Chemical powder BC for B and C fire classes.
    • Polyvalent chemical powder ABC, suitable for A, B and C fire classes.
    • Special chemical powder for D fire classes.

Fire detection

  1. Fire automatic detection systems: systems able to detect a fire automatically or manually, with the purpose of giving a signal to start the auxiliary equipment operation (such as fixed extinction systems) and even iniciate evacuation protocols and machinery stop.
    • Smoke detectors: ionization chamber
      • Optical type
      • By suction
    • Heat detectors: thermic
      • Thermovelocimetric
      • With temperature sensor
    • Flame detectors
  2. Automatic detection gas systems: these systems are similar to the fire detection systems, but designed to detect dangerous gas concentrations.
  3. Fire alarm automatic systems
  4. Fire alarm manual systems
  5. Alarm communication systems
